We are now endorsed by the ATO as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). This means that any donations above $2 you make towards our projects are tax-deductible in Australia.
Currently we are raising funds for our holistic women’s empowerment program in Nepal, which supports poor single or widowed mothers with school-aged children in a rural area of Madhesh Province (Province 2) in the Terai region.
This program is already making a significant impact, improving the quality of life for our beneficiaries and their children. We have been implementing this project since November 2023 in partnership with a local not-for-profit organization, Creative Didibahini (Sisters) Organization Nepal (CDON).
The mothers have benefited through the following activities: distribution of seed capital for establishment of a ‘micro’ business such as goat-rearing, handicrafts or snack shop; repairs of dwellings to provide safe shelter; interactive sessions on financial management and self-care; psychosocial counselling and support; advocacy for property rights and citizenship applications. CDON staff have developed trust and rapport with our beneficiaries, providing support in a manner that recognizes their individual social and cultural situations. Mothers are encouraged to send their children to school regularly and are provided with educational materials.
