Spring Festival 2015

We organised a multicultural themed event  – Spring Festival on the 5th September. The event was supported by Fremantle Multicultural Centre, Helping Minds (formally ARAFMI) and City of Cockburn. Around 150 people attended the fun filled festival that showcased multicultural entertainments like Nepalese, Persian, Indo gypsi and Belly dancers. People also explored range of Nepalese crafts, jewelleries and souvenirs that were being sold on stalls held by volunteers and vendors. There were interactive stalls like henna tattoo and kid’s activity stall themed around reuse and recycle awareness.

The highlight of the event was multicultural food like Momo (Nepalese dumplings), Indian cuisines, South Asian sweets, cup cakes, fruit salads and floating candies. 100 % of the proceeds raised will be donated to rebuilding projects in Nepal, targeted at people who were affected by massive earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015. We would like to thank all the sponsors, vendors, performers and volunteers for helping us make this event a successful one. Also a huge thanks to everyone who attended the event and showed us your support for rebuilding projects in Nepal.

The cumulative effort raised a total of $2081.6. The amount will be used in rebuilding school in Dhading, Nepal which was badly affected by the recent earthquake in Nepal. If you need more information, please contact us via our contact page or send us an email at: info@www.friendsofnepal.org.au
