We continue to support nurses in Burns Unit in Bir Hospital, Kathmandu. Since the disastrous earthquake in 2015, the original building is declared unsafe. It is now relocated to Trauma Unit in the same precinct where only 25 % superficial burns are treated. Major Burn cases are treated in a bigger hospital in Kirtipur which is equipped with better services and facilities. Kirtipur is almost 5km away from Kathmandu city. However there is no individual room for the patients as in Burns Unit of Bir Hospital. Six patients are compromised in a big room/hall currently. Under such inadequate conditions the nurses continue to work in Burns unit with great dedication and diligence. Small donation from the FON allocate the staff to provide vital treatment like blood, plasma transfusions, strong painkillers, nutritious diet to those struggling family from remote villages. No Act of Kindness no matter how small is ever wasted.
